Beautiful Losers movie

Beautiful Losers film trailer
from beautifullosersfilm on Vimeo.

This is just the trailer and I didn’t see the movie yet… but I’m quite sure it must be obviously interesting.

Especially after I’ve seen their exhibition 2 years ago in the north of France and after I’ve seen Geoff McFetridge exhibition at the Red Cat a few months ago.

K-swiss steps it up.

it’s good to laugh (or cry) at self, from time to time

I love this poster.

Seriously though. I personally have issues with the question this poster raises… Yes, design makes the world more beautiful (yay, prettiness!). But guess what? People who don’t get enough to eat don’t care what their soup cans look like.

Kay, there. My cynical moment has passed. Back to making things look mahvelous, dahling.

luddite cameras

Sometimes it pays off big time to troll blogger for interesting ideas/projects/people/inspiration. Usually you wind up clicking through blogs written by a passionate brasilian soccer fan, a family who home schools their children, another family who just likes their children, something in russian you can’t understand, etc. BUT I recently struck blogger gold.

Camaras Fotograficas is a super neat gallery of cameras made from non-camera material. Obviously we are way pro-technology here at fluidesign, but it’s nice to take a break and appreciate things made by hand, (when that hand is not attached to a wacom tablet or mouse), from time to time.

good design + great copy = genius way to get my money

I am a total sucker for products that take the time (and money) to use inventive and unexpected copy as an integral part of their brand. I would SO buy B_E_E cleaning products if they were available on this side of the Pacific because 1) they are environmentally friendly, yay! and 2) they literally talk to you.

Who doesn’t love the idea of your fabric wash giving you a compliment every time you take it out of the cupboard? Boyfriend/husband/lover/sexy stranger in a bottle is all I’m saying…

Pay attention to copy people, it does make a difference!

These are my new friends. I am a sucker for vintage ephemera disguised as “inspiration.” Really I just like old things. Aren’t they so cute, all together?

summer night, fireflies?

Being that tomorrow is the official first day of summer and longest day of the year, here’s something to inspire your weekend out of doors, if you’re a girl that is.

Kiss my brand.

How come some brands are more loveable than other brands? Perhaps because some brands facilitate an easy way to get all intimate, emotional, and passionate with them.

Take these two interactive, immersive, game experiences involving a very intimate act, kissing.

Here at the Happiness Factory, you get to control some ridiculously adorable puppy creatures on their adventure path, to ultimately win each level by kissing the gold at the end of the rainbow, in this case the bottle of coke. The whole experience is awesome, try it out here. Let me know if you can taste the coca-cola, k?

(Shift Control
won the Webby for this one.)

Mentos came up with a pretty clever fight game concept where you have to out kiss your component. I’d say there’s a place in everyone’s heart for a well played passionate kiss fight. You can try it out here.

Check out the Feltron Annual Report. This last one is a visualization of designer Nicholas Felton’s life last year.

As sites like lastfm.com, mint.com, twitter.com, etc. record and graph our life’s minutes, we will begin to see everything getting aggregated, spewing out reports on us and the world amongst us.
