MTV.com simplifies, kills Flash

MTV just killed their sluggish flash site [launched last fall] in favor of a simplified, web two point oh look and feel. They’re still keeping it fresh by using a variety of artwork from various illustrators and designers loaded into the background. Also note the new advertising strategy.

    I like their new site. But what I like most is their openness on their blog - saying clearly what they did, why they did it (Flash -> HTML) and asking (even begging!) for feedback from their users. For a big “corp” site to do this, with a huge audience, is bold. We should encourage all of our clients to do the same.
